Through rhyming verse and whimsical illustrations, Wally One-Sock tells the story of a baby who can’t manage to keep two socks on his feet, and invents colorful excuses for why he’s wearing only one sock as he goes about his day.
“Wally One-Sock was inspired by my three-month-old son, who can never seem to keep both of his socks on,” said Baldwin, a resident of Livonia. “The idea for the book came to me one night as I was feeding Elliot and watching him twirl one bare foot around.”
Perfect for pre-school children, early readers and any parent who has every wondered why their baby is wearing just one sock, Wally One-Sock is told through rhyming verse that will delight young children. The book features the charming illustrations of Allen Park resident Rae Anne Beckius.
“With the current focus on ‘buying local,’ I was happy to be able to work with a fellow Detroiter on this project,” said Baldwin.
