One, fateful day - July 26, 2004 - forever changed Bev Brown's life.
She had gone out for a restful day of riding the motorcycle that meant so much to her. Riding represented her freedom from stress, boredom and welcomed her into an ethereal experience that many bikers live for. As she rode with a woman's motorcycle group, another inexperienced rider approached and hit Bev head on. She suffered serious injuries and, since then, has lived a life filled with disability and rehabilitation, numerous operations and recovery.
Her biggest loss was her inability to safely ride a stock motorcycle. Her right wrist is forever fused, her knees need to be rebuilt and she has lost most of her upper body strength. Because the accident also left her financially stressed, no builder would begin to modify a stock bike to suit her disabilities - until now.
On December 12, 9 p.m., at Boomer's Roadhouse 6650 Highland Road in Waterford, friends and family will gather to watch Bev regain her freedom and live her dream once again. Ron Harris of Chop Doc Choppers and Biker Resurrection have teamed up to build a trike that she will be able to ride comfortably and safely. Not only has Ron Harris built an incredible motorcycle but has made it a work of art.
