The 2009 Women’s Commission for Oakland County announces a health-focused public forum on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.
The Women’s Commissions’ forum will focus on Women’s Health with special guest speakers Grace San Agustin, R.N., B.S.N., of the Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center of Beaumont and Gail Evo, Director of Beaumont Hospitals’ Integrative Medicine Program. They will share valuable information about a myriad of women’s health topics. The community is welcome to ask questions and address the Oakland County Women’s Commissioners’ at this forum.
“This is an opportunity to inform the residents about the new Beaumont Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center devoted to prevention, diagnosis and research of heart disease. This forum will also introduce the public to alternative medicine methods offered through Beaumont Hospitals’ Integrative Medicine program,” stated Commissioner Marcia Gershenson.
Women’s Commission Chairperson Joni Hubred-Golden, stated, “All Women’s Commission meetings are open to the public and are another way for people in the community to be engaged in the public process. We extend the invitation to everyone to come to this public forum to learn more about women’s health issues.”
Oakland County Commissioner and Women’s Commission Ex-Officio Representative Christine A. Long, who is also a former University of Michigan Medical Center Registered Nurse stated, “With health care being such an integral part of our everyday life, this forum will provide awareness about the health services and innovations provided locally.”
