Over 450 guests celebrated HAVEN’s 2011 Promenade of Hope, There is No Place Like Home, on May 12, at Art Van Furniture in Royal Oak.
This year’s event raised almost $250,000 in net proceeds. The annual fundraiser is the largest fundraiser for the 36 year-old nonprofit; raising over 20% of HAVEN’s annual fundraising budget each year.
Funds raised from this event help HAVEN continue to provide services to survivors of domestic and sexual assault, free of charge.
Helping garner the community’s support this year were Honorary Chairs Henry Baskin and Art Van Elslander, both of Bloomfield Hills, and the Co–Chairs Meg Gordy of Beverly Hills, Lori Mazurek of Fenton, Deborah Roelofs of Troy and David Sokol of Oakland Township.
This years’ Promenade of Hope sponsors included Diamond Sponsor, Henry Baskin Foundation; Host and Ruby Sponsor, Art Van Furniture; Ruby Sponsor, Huntington National Bank; Platinum Sponsors, Charter One, Ford Motor Company, Kelly Services, Towers Watson, Verizon Wireless. Gold Sponsors included Conway MacKenzie, Cooper Standard, General Motors Company, Hiller’s Market, Norris Wealth Management Group, Pepsi Beverages Company and Wilshire Financial Group.
