I'm asking YOU to Go Run

The White House Project will offer its signature training the weekend of May 21 in Grand Rapids for anyone interested in learning more about running for office, managing a political campaign or simply raising their voices in the public process.

Go Run is a nonpartisan political leadership training for women. It will inspire you to enhance your leadership personally, professionally and in your community, by offering informational workshops that give you the tools necessary to conduct a successful campaign of any kind.

Tuition is $250; generous scholarships are available. The White House Project strives to ensure that all women have access to this training. To learn more, visit The White House Project website. The application includes about 50 questions, but the majority are multiple-choice and very easy to answer.

For more information about the Michigan Go Run 2010 location, application, scholarships or stipends, contact Tracy Garrett, Great Lakes Fellow, at 616-454-8836 or tgarrett@thewhitehouseproject.org.

As a member of the Michigan cabinet, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Even if you end up not running, the training will change the way you look at politics and government. If you cannot attend, but would like to help train women like alumnae State Representative Lesia Liss, County Commissioner Amanda Roggenbuck, Trustee Mishelle Y. Kennedy and Commissioner Laura Davis, I invite you to contribute in one of two ways:
  • Drop a check or money order payable to The White House Project into an envelope addressed to Michigan Women's Forum, P.O. Box 921, Farmington MI 48332-0921. I'll forward all contributions to Shannon Garrett, The White House Project's Michigan director.
  • Go to The White House Project donation site:
https://secure2.convio.net/twhp/site/Donation2?df_id=1420&1420.donation=form1 to make a donation of any amount. Under "Please credit this gift to", enter "Joni Hubred-Golden".

Your donation, no matter what size, will be valued and appreciated!
