A Studio Tour and A Stroll Through Time benefit COTS

Detroit, MI – In a unique twist on their annual fund-raising event, COTS will offer the public a chance to view the film studio process up close, and help fight homelessness at the same time.

A Stroll Through Time, on May 22, 2010 at Stage3 Studios in Warren, represents a total departure from past events. Guests will visit the past, present and future of COTS, as they stroll through studio spaces usually reserved for film professionals.

Mayor Dave Bing & First Lady Yvette Bing, this year’s Honorary Chairs, are committed to the COTS mission. "I applaud the efforts of COTS to address the issue of homelessness. Their assistance and support to the community is recognized, and appreciated," said Mrs. Bing.


Literally three events in one, the Past segment will take a look at the home of COTS emergency shelter, formerly a reputed Purple Gang hangout known as the Imperial Hotel. The 20’s era environment will offer exciting games and a chance for guests to sport period attire. A COTS Today segment will introduce the agency, inform supporters of COTS many programs to help the homeless gain self-sufficiency, and offer an array of elegant silent auction items. The Future, segment will showcase COTS plans for tomorrow, and present the dessert and big band dance phase of the strolling dinner.
