Walking in Faith Mother's Day event to honor six women

Faith With Heels will host a Walking in Faith Mother’s Day Banquet, on Saturday, May 8, 2010, to honor the following women:

Joy Redmond Hubbard ~ Fox 2 News Detroit

Ernestine Sanders ~ Cornerstone Schools

Cassandra Jones-McBryde ~ Pretty Girl Project

Stephanie Penn-Danforth ~ Pretty Girl Project

Juanita Haley ~ Peoples Community Church/Boys & Girls Bible Club

Florence Moffitt ~ Haitian Missionary (15 years)

Faith with Heels was created by MiVida Burrus, who developed a blog to document her life and walk of faith. "My site is dedicated to allowing women to speak freely about their own faith walk," she said. "The site is used as a catalyst for women to stop hiding the pain, doubt and reservations and talk about how to overcome those things through faith and wisdom; to walk out their trials, but to also know that they are not alone."

Part of desire of Faith With Heels is to give back to others; therefore, some of the proceeds from the ticket sales will support L.I.F.T. Women’s Resource Center in Detroit.
